It all began in 1908. It was in this year that Henry Timken, famed for inventing the roller bearing, purchased 10 acres of prime Chula Vista property and donated it to start a retirement community. The beautiful two-story residence on the property was renamed the Fredericka Home for the Aged, in honor of Mrs. Timken. And it was from this quiet beginning - to what is now called Fredericka Manor - that a revolution was born.
Fredericka Manor first embraced an enlightened, modern philosophy emphasizing the dignity of seniors. It was about offering real choices and a senior lifestyle never before accessible to this retirement community.
Live Life Your Way.
This inspiring philosophy is still vibrant today. Almost a century later, Fredericka Manor is one of the longest standing retirement communities in the country, offering seniors the freedom of personal choice with the support of like-minded peers and staff.
